IT Specialist, GS-2210-12/13 (MAP)

The working title for this position is Electronics System Analyst. As an Electronics System Analyst, you will be performing the following duties:
Serve as the systems administrator and manager for office electronics, radar, telecommunications, observing, and information technology systems. Provide maintenance and logistic support for the WSR-88D, Automated Surface observations System and Telecommunications systems. Initiate, plan, coordinate and oversee the integration, maintenance, and security of approved technologies into the office environment. Perform first-line supervision duties for the office electronics staff. These duties are described at the FPL GS-13, the GS-12 is developmental leading to such performance. Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-12 level:

In addition to meeting the IT Competencies above, applicants must also possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Participating in the testing and modification of IT systems and programs; and Providing support and maintenance for electronic, electromechanical, data acquisition, or communications equipment and standalone and networked computer systems. To qualify at the GS-13 level:

In addition to meeting the IT Competencies above, applicants must also possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Providing technical expertise in the design, testing, and modification of IT systems and programs; Providing support and maintenance for electronic, electromechanical, data acquisition, or communications equipment and standalone and networked computer systems; and Overseeing field maintenance electronics staff.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
