Position Information:
Will be appointed as Excepted Temporary Not-To-Exceed two (2) years if do not possess the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) certification.
The nature of work for this position is to promote outpatient veterans' maximum level of independence and safety in the performance of everyday activities and in community mobility.
Requires good knowledge in the theories, principles, and methodologies of the practice of OT and the ability to apply them to an outpatient setting, the ability to think critically, communicate, and collaborate clearly with others, verbally and in writing, and flexibility to respond to changing circumstances.
The nature of the work requires the ability to adapt OT methods to a variety of patient conditions.
Works mostly independently though may seek assistance for conditions that are unusual, complex or require highly specialized OT interventions.
The location and provision of the work is primarily in the Community Based Outpatient Clinic and occasionally in the home or community.
