VACANT POSITION PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER The Hoopa Valley Tribal Council is seeking applicants to fulfill the Regular Part-Time Public Information Officer position.
This position is responsible for writing press releases and for creating public relation materials at the direction of the Tribal Chairperson and Council.
Performs graphic design work, prepares page layouts, copyedits, and prepares all written and photographic materials for the tribal newsletter.
Must meet stringent deadlines.
May be required to travel.
May be required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
May be required to make public presentations as directed by the Tribal Chairperson and Council.
Supervises any newsletter staff assigned by Chairperson or Council.
Salary $24.
00 hr.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in journalism, public relations, or a related field and two years relevant experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign is essential.
Must be able to operate a digital SLR camera.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must have working knowledge of the journalism and mass media field.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be friendly and punctual.
Must dress in professional work attire.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must possess and maintain valid Driver's License and be insurable under the Tribe's Motor Vehicle Policy.
This position is classified as safety sensitive.
Preference will be given to qualified Native American Indian applicants.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
